Wallis & Futuna

The friendly French-flavoured islands of Wallis & Futuna are beautiful, with local traditions and culture aplenty; but don't come expecting Club Med - these are workaday islands and a successful visit requires a little planning, not to mention some French.

If French wines and European food are enough to tempt you across the Pacific waters, you will find sufficient sightseeing for a short stay. If you are intent on doing absolutely nothing for an extended period, Wallis & Futuna probably fits the bill, but the castaway lifestyle won't come cheap.
